TDIHs 76:
Crazy Fingers. Check it:
http://www.archive.org/details/gd76-09-23.sbd.backus.14687.sbeok.shnf

Honorable mention~ H>S>F. The sound suffers from tape
warbles and aud splices. But come on, when was the last
time you listened to a 76? and no, this is not a poll.

Nice pic - but that sure looks a lot more like GG Park than Cameron Indoor (where in April of 1992 we got to chant "back to back, chickenshack" when the second straight banner went up).

Can't take credit for the cover - I just happened to have saved a lot of the covers from the (now defunct) grateful dead cd covers site. Didn't save them all, but I've got quite a few.

Yep...actually, been looking at these shots over the years, every time they come up, and I can never quite see myself. We were just in front of Keith, a little to his left as you look out over his shoulder, so that we were looking up at him, and Phil to the left...Jerry was farthest away.

It was a beautiful day, but as always in September in the Park, nippy as the afternoon wore on...looks like Bob took off his jacket at some point, but Phil and Jerry keep warm.

What does it mean if a song has two slashes before it, or after it? Like //Help On The Way or xxx//?

the song is cut... //before...after//

most likely the taper was not paying attention and hit "record" some time into the //song

Sometimes the cables become snakes and the crowd turns into a pulsing organism of randomly moving but perfectly choreographed organic particle stream patterns. That shit can trouble a recording if you stare at it too long.

I just listened to this show while catching up on some work. Really worth getting used to the sound quality to get this performance. Great Set List and repeated moments of "wow, that's really good!"

Good ol'GD...

it had "everything" to do with the venue... they were merely channeling the hardwood magic...

I am now the only member of my family not to have gone to Duke, so I understand your bias. Had I done grad school there instead of where I went, I would probably still be in that line of work.
